At Shults-Lewis, our highly trained and certified clinicians offer weekly individual therapy and bi-weekly family therapy sessions, utilizing a trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy model (TF-CBT).  This evidence-based treatment approach is designed to help children, adolescents, and their caregivers overcome the effects of trauma. It combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive interventions to reduce symptoms like anxiety, depression, and PTSD, while building healthy coping skills. TF-CBT is a structured, short-term approach that involves both the child and their caregiver in the healing process.

In addition to direct therapy, our clinicians play a key role in developing individualized treatment plans, consulting with staff, and offering ongoing support and resources to house parents and direct care staff. They also assist in training to ensure consistent, trauma-informed care across the program. In situations where a child requires special precautions, whether due to potential self-harm, aggression, medical needs, or other safety concerns, we are fully prepared to respond with the support of on-call clinicians and round-the-clock nursing staff.
