A Shults-Lewis garden in plot in mid-winter.

But, spring brings a new crop.

Residents prepare the garden plot for tilling.

Plants are started indoors in early spring.

Residents learn a variety of creative methods to grow seeds.  Here cucumbers are started in eggshells which are easily transplanted when weather gets warmer.

Residents raised butterflies to study and then release them.

Girl Scout Troop 352 from Delton, Michigan plants sunflower and wildflower seeds at Shults Lewis. Justice Jordan was a great help in organizing the  group.
