Associated Women for Shults-Lewis
Warm, Secure, Happy, Safe
What would you add to the list? What list of words should define the world of children? At Shults-Lewis, we reach out to children who do not know the meaning of these words as they were meant to.
Women understand the vital importance of these words as they shape and mold our children. The houseparents, counselors and teachers at Shults-Lewis are trying to give new meaning to this list of words for the children who come to us.
God has given these women a special feeling and sensitivity, a special tenderness to share with children. Women must respond and be stirred by the needs of these throw-away children.
The Associated Women of Shults-Lewis is an organization of women, meeting in their local congregations, who are willing to see to the needs of children placed at Shults-Lewis. They are willing to spend their time, talents, and opportunities that God has blessed them with, to minister to these children, and to the brothers and sisters who are working directly with these children. What they do is make a difference in some of the things women especially appreciate: a new kitchen, furniture which isn't stained and torn, money for starting off in the adult world or for college books.
The AWSL will organize themselves. Each chapter will select their own president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. They will conduct their own activities such as garage sales, chili suppers, and other fun fund raising activities.
