Executive Staff:

Sheilla Davis Interim Executive Director/Director of Operations
Sheilla has been employed at Shults-Lewis since 1979. She takes care of the financial administration and accounting process. Sheilla is a second generation Shults-Lewis staffer. Her father, Doyle Davis, was the long time Executive Director of Shults-Lewis.

Jim Powell Director of Development
Jim Powell retired from Michigan State Police Department after 16 years of service. He has preached at various congregations. He and his wife, Carren, are houseparents in Unit Six.

Gerald Frump GF Counsulting
Gerald Frump retired as Director of Development in early 2011. He is continuing to work alongside the Development Department by being Golf Tournament Chair, raising Capital Campaign funds, and working with Planned Giving.

Bob Kallus Director of the Family Institute/Therapist
Bob Kallus spent over four years at Shults-Lewis as a staff counselor, and now directs the Shults-Lewis Family Institute, which he helped to create in 2004. He holds a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Harding University, and is licensed to practice in Indiana and Illinois.

Peggy Morningstar Family Care Specialist
Having been both a housemom and counselor previsouly at SL, Peggy knows the program extremely well. She has both the heart and love for this ministry to make it the great program it is.

Bob Brown Interim Director of Program Services/Therapist
Bob joins the staff having already been a houseparent for nearly a year. He comes with a pretty impressive background of working with addictions' programs and with specialized school classes utilizing his talents to help them attain a diploma.

Angelga Robertson Intake Coordinator
Angela Robertson has a B.S.W. from Valparaiso University. She worked as the Administratvie Assistant for 10 1/2 years, left to work on her degree and is working as the Intake Coordinator.

Channetta Williams Administrative Assistant
Channetta Williams comes to us from Chicago where she has been employed in a variety of customer service positions. Now she brings that smiling attitude and willingness to help to Shults-Lewis when you call us. Channetta is our Administrative Assistant and performs a multitude of clerical and digital functions. She is also very active in the Chicagoland Church of Christ Singles Ministry.

Beth Frump Development Administravie Assistant
Beth is one of the staff members who literally grew up around the Shults-Lewis campus. She is the daughter of Gerald and Phyllis Frump. Beth has a B.S. in Human Resource Management and a M.S. in Organizational Development.

Vickie Terhune School Principal
In addition to her duties of School Principal Vickie also teaches math. Her approach to teaching math to her students actually makes math fun! She has a sign in her classroom that says, "The best angle to approach any problem is a Try-angle!"

Jeanne Chowning Teacher
Along with teaching English grammar and Literature, Jeanne also teaches Independent Living Skills to the older students who are preparing to leave the program. After coming to Shults-Lewis in 1988 and working as full time relief for 11-1/2 years, Jeanne gave up the mantle of houseparent and school cook to return to teaching here at Shults-Lewis. To her there is nor greater gift than working with children.

Adam Davis Teacher
Adam comes to us from the great state of Tennessee and is teaching history at Shults-Lewis. Adam has had the unique opportunities to have done mission work in Africa and China before coming to us. He graduated from Freed-Haredeman College in Tennessee where he majored in history.

Mike Zandstra Teacher
Mike and his wife Jennifer came from Grandville, Michigan to be Houseparents. After stepping out of Houseparenting, Mike decided to join the teaching staff as the Science Teacher. He brings new ideas and excitement to his classroom.

Sharilyn Herren School Secretary & Computer Lab.
Having been a houseparent from November 1991 until May 2003 has helped Sharilyn to do the wonderful job she now does at the school. In addition to her duties as the school secretary she directs the computer learning process that the students undertake before they leave Shults-Lewis.

Gerald and Phyllis Frump
Relief Houseparents for Home #1
Gerald is also the Director of Development for Shults-Lewis. Gerald and Phyllis have been at the home for over 20 years. They have been full-time houseparents as well as relief parents for those parents who have the weekend off. Gerald and Phyllis are well known in our brotherhood for their love for children and the sacrifice they've made for the children of Shults-Lewis.

Bob and Becky Brown
Relief Houseparents for Home #2
Bob and Becky bring their twins, Rachel aTrinity to Shults-Lewis from Dixon Illinois. Bob worked in addiction counselling and Becky taught at the Christian Early Childhood Center. They attended the Sterling Church of Christ. They look forward to using their spiritual gifts in the work here as they take over the full-time relief resposibilities at home 2.

Jonathan and Amber Tyler
Houseparents for Girls Home #5
Jonathan and Amber arrived at Shults-Lewis recently from Michigan. Jonathan graduated from Oklahoma Christian Unversity and is currently attending IvyTech working on becoming a CPA. Amber has a degree from Rochester College. Jonathan and Amber have always had a desire to work in ministry.

Jim and Carren Powell
Houseparents for Boys Home # 6
Jim and Carrren come to Shults-Lewis from Gladwin Michigan where Jim reitred from the Michigan State Police recently and Carren worked for the Clare/Gladwin School District. Jim has worn many hats over the years, Minister, High School Basketball Coach, among them. Both he and Carren were active with the youth at Gladwin, working with the Lads To Leaders and Leaderettes program.

Matthew and Janine French
Houseparents for Home #7 (Boys).
Matthew and Janine joined the staff in 2003. Both are from Michigan. They enjoy sports and outdoor activities including gardening, baseball, campfires and such. Each worked with young people in the Gladwin Church of Christ, where Matthew served as a deacon and then an elder. Matthew is the minister at the Hilltop Church of Christ in Valparaiso. Janine is the Houseparent Supervisor.
