Dear Shults Lewis Amazing Staff…
Wow! That last 4 years have been a major turn around in my life…It only took me 3 years to realize what a blessing Shults-Lewis was to me.
As I sit her typing this letter, I reflect back to my 18 months at Shults-Lewis. For the first 6 months, I probably spent more time in the booth then I did in the actual classroom. I probably set the record however that is something that I am not proud of.
But I am so glad I went to Shults-Lewis. I never thought I would say this but I am actually glad.
The four years since I left Shults-Lewis have gone by so fast..(Current Shults-Lewis Kids) you may not think so but believe me, the time there goes by so fast! Right now, I am on my computer and I am looking at my Blue Arm band, that I have kept all these years. Every time I see the Blue Arm Band, I realize that God has done amazing things not only in my life but in the lives of those people who are close to me.
Anyways, This past May, I graduated from College with my degree in Liberal arts and emergency medicine and 3 weeks ago, I got married! What an amazing experience that was! God lead me to an amazing man and we entered into our marriage with purity and hope for the future, and an overflowing abundance of love for each other and for God!
Did I mention, that we serve an Awesome God!
I don't want to forget to thanks to my AMAZING house parents, Darryl and Helga Nelson. They were the angels that I have been waiting for and God gave me a wonderful blessing when He put the Nelson's in my life….And Darryl, you still have the best chili that I know of.
And Shults-Lewis Kids,
I have been where you are and it will get better…I promise.
Not only do you have an Amazing God watching over you and guiding you, but you have an amazing staff of dedicated Christian people who are always there to give a hand or a hug.
If I was there, I would give each and everyone of you a hug and tell you that, Keep holding on, it will get better and you will have an amazing future if you let Shults-Lewis and God do magic in your life…Believe me, It is magical. You leave a whole new person, a better person.
And Kids Don't Forget this:

I have a mound of laundry to do, bills to pay and a Husband who needs to be reminded that tomorrow is trash day…

First of all I want to thank you for all you did for Bob. You did more than you will ever know to help him. Just wanted to give you an update on Bob. In 2000 he came to Indiana State University in Terre Haute, completed one year and met a wonderful young lady from Frankfort, IN. They got married in 2001. Both continued to go to college and work part-time. Bob is majoring in electronics and will finish in the spring. His beautiful wife is majoring in couseling and has one more year. They both are on the Honor Roll. Today he just told me he got the highest grade in his calculus class. Thanks for everything!

I would like for you to know that I am praying for the Shults-Lewis Children's Home. I pray that many great Christian influences may happen to each one of the children to become a strong Christian some day. The children there are certainly blessed to be in a home like Shults-Lewis. May God continue to bless you in the days to come as you serve Him.

It's Amanda. I used to be a trouble maker and angry, but after going through the program I learned that there are people that care about me and they can't help you until you let them in. They can only offer you help. It's up to you to take IT! And it took me a long time to figure that out. With out your help I don't think I would have made it this far. I've got two degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology (B.A. and A.S.) I just wanted to say thank you for everything you have all done for me. With out you guys and the grace of God I wouldn't be here today. Mrs. Chowning you're the best and so is your Mac-N-Cheese.
